Pair of bookends each decorated with kookaburras (seven in total) sitting on gumtree stumps; tangerine, yellow, black, chocolate, tan and blue high gloss glazes; 1930s. 15 x 10.7 x 7 cm. * The Japanese were experts in reproductions/replicas, and in the 1930s they copied a number of pieces produced in Australia, particularly by Grace Seccombe, which they could sell at significantly lower prices than their Australian equivalents.
