Printed in colours, gold & black on thin white card, with design of two labels interlaced by green flower bedecked ribbon, the larger panel illustrating a winter scene of an old mill and waterwheel, the smaller promoting the McPhail Piano and Beal & McCarthy Rockland Music Store, Rockland, Mass.; reverse side blank. Lenth 15.1 cm, Width 5.2 cm. *One of a number of similar commercial desings used by piano manufacturers in particular. This basic design also used by The Mehlin-Kroeger Piano Company, with different illustration. Tiny piece worn from top left hand corner of bookmarker.

Depth 9 cm. *Melrose Australian Ware was produced at Hoffman Pottery, Brunswick, Victoria, from 1931-1940. This is a work man's piece and should not have been on the market. Short supplies of men and products during the War enabled this sort of exception to occur (the pieces being smuggled out of the factory by the worker, before final glazing).
