[ii](dedication leaf)+[2](explanation of plates), 26 lithographic plates on 25 sheets (including the pictorial title page), most with tissue guards; impl. folio; dark green qr. leather, the gilt lettered spine quite worn and grazed, upper joint starting, green cloth boards, upper board lettered in gilt, lightly worn, the edges more so; hinges reinforced at endpapers but internally cracked, with some plates loosening, scattered foxing (heavier on text leaves) and slight soiling, a little minor wear & tear; the author, London, 1839. *Shabby copy. Samuel Swarbreck was a London-based painter who exhibited at the Royal Academy in the 1850s and 1860s. These sketches, mostly architectural, were made during his 1837 tour of Scotland. Item #075995
