[iv]+70(last colophon), printed in Golden Type in red & black, the title page and first text page within elaborate woodcut floral borders, several other partial borders and numerous decorative initials (one 12 line, others 10 or 6 lines), decorative pressmark at colophon; limp vellum with thin yapp edges and green ribbon ties, spine lettered in gilt, the vellum a trifle marked; uncut; within the original gilt lettered green card slipcase, slightly soiled, edges worn; armorial bookplate of F. A. Inderwick on upper pastedown, edges of leaves slightly foxed; printed by William Morris at the Kelmscott Press, Hammersmith, 1893. First edition, limited to 505 copies, this being one of 500 on Batchelor paper. Peterson A17; Sparling 17. *First state copy, with the uncorrected printing errors on pages 16, 19, 26, and 69. These errors were corrected during printing and cancel leaves were inserted in some later copies. The woodcut borders were specially designed for this book, which is the first of the Kelmscott octavo books with a woodcut title.
