First edition. Sabin 28825. *John Griffith (1713-1776) was born in Wales but raised mainly in Pennsylvania, where he joined the Society of Friends and became an energetic worker for the Quaker cause. He returned to England in 1748, and eventually settled at Chelsmford, Essex. His journal, published posthumously, includes accounts of his travels in New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Item #098953
