After serving with distinction during the Anglo-Dutch wars, he was appointed to conduct a voyage of exploration in the South Seas. He sailed from Deptford in November 1669, and entered the Straits of Magellan in October 1670, finally returning home in June 1671. This account of the expedition (and other voyages) was originally published in 1694. Item #099986
