First published in America earlier the same year under the title Valley of Smugglers. There are two variations of dust wrapper. The British version, designed by Fratini and priced at 13/6, depicts Kelly in his armour, holding a gun; the Australian version, designed by Christine Aldor and priced at 17/-, shows an outback valley, with a figure hiding behind rocks.
