Roycroft for R. Blome, London, 1679. Fifth edition. Wing G2222; ESTC R12114. *From the library of firearms and heraldry collector Doug Mills, with his business card mounted on the upper pastedown. First published in 1610. This edition is the first to include John Logan's Treatise, both parts of which have separate title pages, bearing the imprint of Tho. Roycroft dated 1677 and 1678 respectively, with Part II here misbound before Part I. Thomas Roycroft (who died in 1677) and his son Samuel were influential printers in London in the mid to late 17th century. Lowndes calls for 73 leaves of plates in the Analogie; this copy has 71 and is missing at least one double-sided plate in the Atchivements of Earles (images 49-56). One slightly cropped leaf (Atchivements of Barons images 33-40) has been neatly reinserted onto a later backing sheet with a manuscript heading. In this copy a portrait of the Earl of Craven replaces that of the Baron of Worlabye called for by Lowndes. Item #141691
