First edition. *Posthumously published. Volume II includes a brief account of Roux's life and work by Rene Marjolin. Philibert-Joseph Roux (1780-1854) succeeded Guillaume Dupuytren as chief surgeon at the Hotel-Dieu, Paris. A pioneer plastic surgeon, he performed one of the earliest staphylorrhaphies [surgical repair of a cleft palate] in 1819. The Centre Leon Berard in Lyon was named after the oncologist who was director of the centre from 1923 to 1940. Item #148577
