Edition limited to 300 copies (this copy not numbered), signed by the artist. *From its foundation in 1924, The Horn Book magazine retained a similar cover design for over sixty years, until in 1985 a decision was taken to invite a guest artist to provide a new cover design each year. These cover designs were also issued as a limited edition poster for the magazine. Maurice Sendak was the first artist chosen, followed by William Steig, Arnold Lobel, Nancy Ekholm Burkert and then David Macaulay, whose design first appeared on the November/December issue of 1989. David Macaulay's books have received many awards, including the 1991 Caldecott Medal for Black And White. Item #150055
