Antonio Frasconi (1919-2013) was born in Uruguay and lived in the United States from 1945 on. .In 1955, his woodcuts were exhibited in a traveling exhibition organized by the Smithsonian Institution. In 1959 he was a runner-up for the Caldecott Medal, and in 1962 Frasconi won a Horn Book Fanfare award. Also in 1962, he was elected into the National Academy of Design as an Associate member, becoming a full Academician in 1969. Glenway Wescott (1901-1987) was an American poet, novelist and short story writer. Item #150829
