J. Osborn, London, 1906. *Autobiography of the temperance activist and author of Marriage and the Social Evil, and Marriage and Heredity. Born in Daylesford, Victoria, in 1860, she was an active prohibitionist and helped pioneer the Woman's Christian Temperance Union in Victoria. She wrote numerous newspaper articles on temperance and votes for women, some of which were republished as pamphlets. After her second marriage she moved to New Zealand, where she was an advocate for women in early factories and a foundation member of the United Labour Party. Item #155493
