First edition. *Inscribed by the author on the dedication page, to Sir Edmund Herring, dated 15/8/71. Gordon A. Fisher was Headmaster of the Armidale School, NSW, from 1940 to 1961. Lieutenant General Sir Edmund Herring (1892-1982) was a senior Australian Army officer during the Second World War, Lieutenant Governor of Victoria, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
