First separate edition. *Shabby set. Originally published as Volumes II and III of Our Mess [see Sadlier 1415] in 1843-4. In Volume II of this set the plate called for at page 270 (Bad scran t'ye Peter) is missing, but an additional plate, not called for in the list of illustrations, is present at page 333. (Captioned Death of the Vivandiere, it has perhaps been inserted from another edition of the novel, as it is the same as a plate by Phiz captioned Death of Minette in a later edition). Item #168520
