Pp. 38+[2](colophon)+[22](the prints), coloured frontispiece and 1 full page coloured illustration, the title page vignette and 16 text figures (mostly full page) printed in purple, plus 8 original samples at end (6 hand-tipped), each being an example of a different printing technique, notes; f'cap. folio; qr. red/brown morocco, spine lettered in gilt, marbled papered boards; light crease in last few leaves, including lower free endpaper; The Plough Press, Oxford, 1981. Edition limited to 150 numbered copies. *Leaf book. The original examples tipped or bound in at the end are: a Baxter print by Kronheim; a print from Knight's patent blocks by Leighton Brothers; two chromolithographs; three examples of relief printing; and a screened key and tint print by Jarrolds of Norwich. Loosely inserted in a pocket at the lower endpaper are two examples of Victorian printed ephemera (including a Players cigarette card) and a set of five proofs printed by Wakeman from the original blocks used to print the separate colours for one of the plates in the book.
