A broken run of 98 issues from Volume 9 to Volume 43, comprising: Numbers 108-118, 125, 126, 128-131, 133-155, 158, 161, 162, 168-182, 192, 200, 206, 250, 268, 276, 359, 360, 477-507, 516. Totalling over 3000 pages (averaging 24 pages in earlier issues, later issues usually 32 pages including wrappers, all but the last few issues processed), text illustrations; f'cap. 4to; pictorial paper wrappers, stapled, sometimes slightly soiled and worn, several of the staples rusted, issue 483 silverfished; contents sometimes loosening, a little light soiling, occasional ink or pencil annotations, issue 479 partially overprinted; privately published, 1955-1989. *Contributors include the editors, W. O. G. Lofts, Josie Packman, a.o. Issue 178 includes a loosely inserted flyer for a stage production at the Victoria Palace, Billy Bunter Shipwrecked; and Numbers 486 and 505 include brief handwritten notes from the editor, Mary Cadogan. The Collectors' Digestwas founded in 1946 by Herbert Leckenby, who was succeeded as editor/publisher by Eric Fayne in November 1959, and by Mary Cadogan in 1987. In the 1960s it merged with The Story Paper Collector, which had been founded in Canada in 1941 by William H. Gander. Item #089422
