First edition, limited to 250 copies, numbered and signed by the publisher, Walter Stone, and with his extra inscription to bookseller Harry Hodges. Farmer p. 64. *The fourth book from Walter Stone's Talkarra Press. The text is an unsigned and incomplete letter, half in verse and half in prose, written on board the Daedalus, the store-ship for the Vancouver expedition, during a voyage from California, to New South Wales in 1792-3. The manuscript is in the Mitchell Library. In the introduction, John Earnshaw suggests that the letter writer was William House, former boatswain of H.M.S. Discovery. Item #122339
