One of 1,000 numbered copies, printedon Pannekoek mould-made paper. McKitterick 87. *George Moore originally envisaged this text as a general introduction to the uniform edition of his works. The latter part of this book is unrevised, as the author died before finishing the manuscript. This was the third book by Moore to be published by the Nonesuch Press, and Francis Meynell had intended to include a portrait of the author by Stephen Gooden. Two sittings were done, but the portrait was not completed. George Moore died in January 1933. Item #135978
