C. Thomson & Co., Ltd., Glasgow, 1981. *Originally drawn by cartoonist Dudley D. Watkins, The Broons first appeared in the Sunday Post in 1936. Watkins continued to draw the strip until his death in 1969, and the Post recycled his work into the mid 1970s. Peter Davidson drew the strip for a while in the early 1980s, succeeded by Ken H.
