New edition. *The only first-hand account of the hoax perpetrated by Horace de Vere Cole and friends (including Duncan Grant, Adrian and Virginia Stephen [Woolf]), disguised as 'the Emperor of Abyssinia and entourage'), against the Royal Navy. Virginia Woolf only referred to the escapade publicly in a 1940 lecture to the Women's Institute at Rodmell, not in her writings. Adrian Stephen's account was first published in 1936. Item #165654
