Wilks, London, 1809. Fifth edition. F.480; Wantrup, pages 91-93. *First published in 1803 and reprinted several times. 'Bond gives an account of the operation of the convict system and the economic corruption in the colony, and describes early efforts to encourage free settlers. As well, he included comments on the Aborigines and on natural history. All in all, there is a wealth of personal observation. Bond's account, in any edition is a worthy and important addition to a collection All editions are rare' [Wantrup, page 93]. Loosely inserted are the bookplates of two Australian book collectors: Eric Glenie Bonython (1910-1971) and Rodney Davidson (1933-2016). George Bond was an Ensign in the New South Wales Corps. Governor Hunter was dissatisfied with Bond's behaviour and complained of him in dispatches, following which Bond left the colony in 1800. The other pamphlets in this sammelband are: 1.
