Pp. 64, illustrated throughout; small med. 8vo; green cloth backed cream glazed papered boards with matching cloth corners, the boards featuring a coloured Greenaway illustration of two rows of seated children each holding a letter of the title, slightly soiled, with two small damp spots to upper board, edges lightly worn; all edges blue; bright yellow endpapers, slightly faded at edges and with two small surface grazes to fore-edge of upper pastedown; hinges starting, name in ink on upper free endpaper, corners of a couple of leaves faintly creased, scattered light foxing and soiling; George Routledge & Sons, London, n.d.[1882]. First edition, first issue. Schuster & Engen 109 1a. *The authors were sisters, best known for their Original Poems for Infant Minds (1804-5).
