Pp. 64, coloured frontispiece and numerous text illustrations, black & white pictorial title page; small med. 8vo; green cloth backed cream glazed papered boards with matching cloth corners, the boards featuring a coloured Greenaway illustration of two rows of seated children each holding a letter of the title, slightly soiled and scuffed, edges lightly worn; all edges blue; yellow endpapers; hinges starting at a couple of points, scattered foxing and occasional slight soiling; Frederick Warne and Co., London & New York, n.d.[c. 1909?]. Second edition. *Collates as for Schuster & Engen 109, 2a, except for the colour of the endpapers. Originally published by Routledge in 1882. The authors were sisters, both poets. Jane Taylor (1782-1824) is generally acknowledged as the author of the poem which became the popular song Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Item #169096
