Routledge & Co., London, 1858. First edition thus. * Irish reporter William Howard Russell (1827-1907) spent 22 months covering the Crimean War for The Times newspaper. His dispatches via telegraph from the Crimea were collected and published in two volumes in 1856, under the title The War, before being revised and retitled in 1858. Item #172140
