First edition, second issue, with page 258 in Volume II numbered correctly. *From the library of the Irish critic and poet Edward Dowden (1843-1913), with his inked signature on the upper pastedown Volume I. In 1879 Dowden contributed a biography of Robert Southey to the English Men of Letters series, and in 1881 he edited a volume of correspondence between Southey and his second wife, Caroline Bowles. In 1895 Dowden edited Select Poems of Southey. Most recently from the library of David Levine, Sydney, whose book label is on the upper pastedowns. Item #181105
