ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
[Illustrated by D. R. Sexton]. Pp. 190m coloured frontispiece and 3 plates, numerous black & white illustrations (some full page), printed upper pastedown; narrow demy 4to; red cloth backed coloured pictorial papered boards, slightly creased, edges a trifle rubbed; dust wrapper, slightly soiled, edges rubbed, chipped and torn; issued without free endpapers, the text block lightly browned, hinges occasionally starting, a little light foxing; Juvenile Productions Ltd, London, n.d.[1937?]. Early reprint? See Lewis Carroll Handbook p. 240, giving a date of 1933 for an edition illustrated by Sexton published by J. F. Shaw. (Ovenden, The Illustrators of Alice, dates the present edition 1933 and the Shaw edition 1937, but that is probably a transposition of the two dates. The Juvenile Productions edition is more likely to be the reprint). *Unusual depictions of Alice, who is shown with short blonde hair, and seems to be wearing a brownie or girl-guide uniform throughout the text, although she wears a red spotted dress on the dust wrapper and boards. The illustrations are by D. R. Sexton. Item #183004
