First edition. *Sir John Bagot Glubb (1897-1986), also known as 'Glubb Pasha', served in the First and Second World Wars, the Ikhwan Revolt, and the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. In 1930 he became an officer of the Arab Legion (later known as the Jordanian Armed Forces) and in 1931 he formed the Desert Patrol, which consisted exclusively of Bedouin.
