Routledge & Co., London, 1858. First edition. *The inscription is from the Conservative MP George Higginson Allsopp (1846-1907) to his 'sincere friend' Robert Eden Moore. James Grant (1822-1887) was a prolific Scottish author. A distant relation of Sir Walter Scott, he wrote over 56 novels and several works of Scottish history. In 1852 he founded the National Association for the Vindication of Scottish Rights. Item #184298
