Single sheet of mourning paper (18.6 cm. x 24 cm.), folded to form four pages, with horizontal crease at centre, written on two sides, and with original mourning envelope addressed by hand. *Arthur James Balfour, 1st Earl of Balfour (1848\endash 1930), British statesman and Conservative politician, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1902 to 1905. Edward Mansel Townsend (1860-1947), ordained priest 1889, held curacies including High Harrogate, Yorks., and Llanrapley, Monmouthshire. He was known as a prolific letter writer. Item #184306
