First published in 1954, Histoire d'O won the Prix des Deux Magots in 1955. In this edition each illustrated page is preceded by a page of quotes from the original novel and other sources on eroticism. Italian artist Guido Crepax (1933-2003) was renowned as the creator of the character Valentina, who featured in comic strips from 1965 until 1996. Pauline Reage was a pseudonym of Anne Cecile Desclos (1907-1998), who also used the name Dominique Aury. She did not reveal her authorship of Story of O until shortly before her death. Item #184359
