New edition. *Originally issued by Charles Knight in 96 parts in 1844-5. For this new edition, the coloured plates were printed by the Leighton Brothers. The cover design is by John Leighton, with his initials in gilt at foot of spines. 'Charles Knight's books were the first ever to offer printed colour plates to a wide and popular market.
